"Suicide"

Yesterday a 13 year old boy took his life. I cannot come here today with many answers. “Why he would do it” or “He had some much to live for” will add one breath of life to his body or any understanding to those of us still here. He made a decision and took action on that decision. He is dead as the result of his actions and decision whether right or wrong.

There are religions including many Christians that will condemn this young man as the result of his actions. In spite of their heartlessness and erroneous dogma, I must remind everyone to walk a mile in his shoes. We do not understand how he felt, what he was experiencing or the rational of his thoughts. We are not God thank goodness. I would hate to think God has any of the characteristics of most religions including what I see in many Christians.

A boy took his life and closed his eyes. He died and has now opened his eyes to see God.

A religious pervert would want to see this scene occur. A young scared child who took his life would stand before an unforgiving God. “Depart from me you cursed” would bellow from God’s mouth. And the pervert happily sees “perverted justice” done. Sick, sick, sick, sick!

Now for the real story, a young scared child who took his life stands before a loving and forgiving God. This wonderful loving God embraces the child in tenderness beyond measure, understanding or even imagination. There the One true God will wipe away all tears and take away all reasons to fear, doubt or worry.

Be careful this day as you paint a picture of God for others to see. I quite honestly hate the image of god painted by the judgmental lives of those professing to be clean of heart. The God I serve paid the price of all sins, mistakes and hidden shortcomings. And this same wonderful loving Father that greeted this young man as He will one day greet you and me.
