So often you hear the word "Saviour" and you immediately think of Jesus. But what does the word really mean?

In the Hebrew the Word means - to be safe, to rescue or bring salvation and is spoken - yâsha‛.

In the Old Testament in Psalms 106:21 where it states, "They forgot God their Saviour, which had done great things in Egypt." In Isaiah 43:3 the word is again, "For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour."

In the New Testament the Greek word means - "deliverer, the Christ or Anointed One" and is pronounced sōtēr. This word is used in John 4:42 "Know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the World."

I wonder when the Christians of the World will finally believe that Jesus is actually the Saviour of the World and not just their own pocket perfect individual savior that fails to save everyone else. So is Jesus the Savior of the World or not? Either Jesus saves the world or he fails to do so. I am just thankful He has revealed this truth in His Word but the problem is Christianity rejects that truth!
